Lungmen's nights have two faces. Beneath the daytime order, another set of rules flows through the back alleys. Tonight is one of the special ones—Sourin, the festival honoring the souls of the dead.
And today, Bison, the young heir of Mountain Dash Logistics, has been sent by his father's order to intern at a company called 'Penguin Logistics.' On paper, an ordinary logistics company—by rumor, a place no one can quite pin down.
Tonight, Bison is about to learn firsthand why those rumors run so thick.
1. First Day of the Internship, Blown Up Alive on the Highway
The story begins in a shabby bar on Yalu Road. Two Siracusa mafia bosses who crossed over, Capone and Gambino, were in the middle of a card game, growling at each other.
Who would take Lungmen, who was the 'real' Sicilian—that was the argument. Then a customer at the next table cuts in. "How about you two take it outside with a bottle?"

At the same moment, Bison, the heir of Mountain Dash Logistics, was dozing off in his car, ahead of his first meeting with Penguin Logistics.

Boom. The entire highway explodes. It was an attack aimed at Bison.
Emerging from the smoke is Penguin Logistics' sharpshooter Exusiai. Right behind her come the wolf-eared driver Texas and hammer-wielding Croissant, but the place they all end up fleeing to is, of all spots, a dead-end alley.

2. The New Hire's Welcome Party Comes With a Candy Bomb
The place they barely escape to is Penguin Logistics' base. In the chaotic interior, Bison tries to politely introduce himself, but nobody's listening.
The boss is looking for a cigar, Croissant confesses to having sold off a box of LPs, and Texas just sighs, "We're a logistics company—why do we keep getting dragged into these turf wars?"
Then someone finds a cute candy box under a chair. Just as Exusiai, delighted, is about to open the lid—
Texas shouts, "Get away, it might be a trap." But it's already too late.
As it explodes, everyone scatters into the street, and the real target of the Siracusa mafia is revealed. It was Bison, all along.
If even we stopped following the rules, Lungmen would've ascended to the heavens long ago. Yo Texas, pop the sunroof!

What follows is a car chase armed with rubber bullets and slingshots. "No live rounds in Lungmen city limits—dis is da rule, okay?" is apparently the boss's one and only principle.
3. The Young Master Chases a Motorcycle on a Bicycle
After a frantic chase, the Penguin Logistics crew ends up leaving Bison behind on the roadside entirely. "Where's Bison?" "Wasn't he supposed to be with you guys?"
Left alone, Bison borrows a bicycle from a passerby and puts on quite a show chasing down the motorcycle gang, but he ends up caught by mafia boss Gambino in the end.
Meanwhile, across town, at a fish cake stall in Lungmen Central Park. Owner Jaye and part-timer Waai Fu are serving customers.
But one unfamiliar customer particularly stands out. A woman with horns, taking her time, saying she has plenty of it while she waits for her fish cakes.

This woman is Mostima. Before long, an explosion echoes from the direction of the highway, and Mostima murmurs to herself. "A bit earlier than scheduled."
4. A Candle Stuck in Her Horn, and a Mysterious Savior
Bison, being dragged off by Gambino, is thrown off the road and crashes onto a pile of Sourin decorative candles. He survives, but with a candle stuck right in his horn.
The one who saved him is none other than Mostima. "Hey there, Mr. Candle? Just hold still for a second." They have to hide together to avoid a mafia patrol.
Bison asks who she is. Mostima answers with a smile instead.
"Penguin Logistics' courier, name's Mostima. I just prefer working alone, is all."
A name he'd heard from his father, but not with good rumors attached. Bison finds himself, half-dazed, following her through the streets of Lungmen at night.
5. The True Meaning of Sourin, Told in a Graveyard
Claiming it's a shortcut, Mostima takes Bison to a graveyard in the middle of the city. "Lungmen might be the only city on Terra that builds a graveyard right in its center."

Mostima tells him in a low voice. Sourin was originally a day to send off the souls of those who had passed and soothe their lingering attachments. "Though everyone's forgotten that by now."
At that moment, in the slums, mafia men were grabbing a resident and roughing him up while demanding to know Rat King's whereabouts. Passing by and witnessing this were fish cake shop's Jaye and Waai Fu.
The two of them easily beat down the mafia and chase them off without a word. "Feels like a sea urchin left three days in a fridge with the power cut off," Jaye adds, in his own way of trash-talking.
The fallen resident, barely catching his breath, warns them. The mafia's next target is the fish cake shop owner, Uncle Dong.
Somewhere in that same graveyard, that very Uncle Dong is waiting for an old friend. The old man rumored to rule the slums, Rat King.
"Guess we should start thinking about where we're gonna settle down soon," Uncle Dong jokes. Rat King answers briefly. "As long as Rat King's still alive, it's not your time to die yet."
And Bison learns one more thing. That today's whole internship was actually a favor his father had secretly asked of Mostima. "Take Bison and show him the world." Even his grades were apparently in Mostima's hands.
6. Why the Bar Is Called 'End of the Earth'
After all the twists and turns, they finally reach Penguin Logistics' real hideout, the bar 'End of the Earth.' Despite the name, it's just an ordinary bar—only the interior is oddly shiny.
Texas and the others, gathered mid-party, welcome Bison warmly. "Three drinks as a lateness penalty—but since you can't drink, make it nine sodas."
A merry party with not a shred of remorse in sight. Then, from somewhere, a familiar voice calls out. "So, what kind of trouble did you Texas lot get into this time?"
Mostima joins them as if it's nothing at all. Everyone treats their reunion after four years as no big deal. Only Bison is left utterly baffled.
That's short-lived, though—mafia boss Gambino's raid begins. Bottles fly through a hail of bullets, and every expensive liquor in the bar becomes a weapon.
Let's make these fine drinks bloom—by alcohol, and by chemistry both.
— Emperor
In the end, Gambino is thoroughly beaten by Texas and flees. The bar is completely wrecked, but as long as you call it 'Emperor style,' that's apparently the end of it.
7. Capone's Betrayal, Gambino's Final Hour
In truth, Gambino's subordinate Capone had been harboring his own hidden agenda. He believed he'd held his ground in Lungmen far longer than Gambino, who came in leading an organization that had already failed in Siracusa.
Capone sends a subordinate to sabotage the plan, and finally shows up before Gambino himself, drawing his blade. A duel between two men from the same family.
As the remaining mafia thugs who'd been beating people up in the slums get tangled in too, it turns into total chaos—and the one who shows up to sort it all out is none other than Rat King.
You've already crossed the line.
— Rat King
In the end, Gambino loses his life at Capone's hand, and Capone kneels before Rat King. But this whole betrayal drama, it turns out, had been Rat King's script from the very start.
Even the subordinates standing by Capone's side were secretly Rat King's people all along. "You'd already been standing on our ground." The mafia from Siracusa never had a chance from the start.
8. The Sourin Party, and the Boss's Sudden Death
Meanwhile, downtown, the real Sourin festival was in full swing. Fish cake shop owner Jaye and part-timer Waai Fu suddenly pick a fight with Texas and her crew, whom they haven't seen in ages.
"I'm going to fix that rotten habit of yours dragging innocent citizens into things every single time," Waai Fu declares, launching a one-on-one showdown with Texas. Onlookers, mistaking it for street theater, cheer them on.
Then suddenly a voice booms out from the speakers. "Alright everyone, wash out your ears and get ready to worship me." The boss has started an impromptu performance.

At that instant, a blade sinks in from behind. "Sleep tight, Mr. Emperor. Happy Sourin." It was Rat King.
The crowd freezes. Lungmen's greatest star has just been murdered right in front of them. But not a single member of Penguin Logistics is even remotely surprised.
9. Sand and Flame, and the Mysterious Box
Rat King grabs the mic and calmly makes an announcement. "Somewhere in this party venue, the Siracusans have hidden a little gift—see if you can find it before time runs out." A bomb-hunting game has begun.
At the same time, Penguin Logistics finds itself surrounded, layer upon layer, by the crowd and the remaining mafia. The one who cuts straight through the situation head-on is Mostima.

Rat King, in the body of an old man, was a true monster who freely commanded sandstorms and barriers. Yet Mostima doesn't back down.
Bison, who'd been watching nervously from a corner, makes up his mind too. "When it comes to enduring things, I won't lose to anyone." Even giving his butler an order, he dives into the fight on his own judgment for the first time.
In the end, a single sniper shot forces Rat King to retreat, and the remaining mafia scatter in the confusion. What's left is nothing but a large, unidentified iron box the Siracusans supposedly hid.
10. Happy Sourin, a Sky Raining Candy
Before the box, timer still ticking, Bison decides to trust his shield and block it with his own body. "Come what may, I've got to at least try."
Mostima stays by his side too. "Then I'll watch over you to the very end. Maybe I can even soften the blow a little."
The timer hits zero, and with a roar, something bursts open. But it's not hot at all.

A single note falls with it. "Happy Sourin." It was Rat King's final prank. The bomb the Siracusans supposedly hid never existed anywhere at all.
And so, the loudest night's farce in Lungmen finally draws to a close.
Epilogue. The Young Master Leaves, the Rumors Remain
An after-party is held at the ruined 'End of the Earth.' Everyone clinks glasses as if nothing happened, but Bison simply can't adjust to it. "What in the world were all those things that happened tonight even for?"
Mostima answers calmly. "Just someone livening up the party with his own life, that's all." Then she asks—will he stay with Penguin Logistics?
Bison shakes his head. "I won't be staying here. But I do think a courier like this, a way of living like this, can exist." His internship was over, but what he'd learned stayed with him.
At the same time, in front of the graveyard, Mostima offers up a prayer alone, exchanging a brief spat with the mysterious Laterano supervisor who's watched over her for so long. This person's codename changes every month—this month it's the 'Testifier of Tribulation.'

Behind the slums, Rat King and Lungmen's real power broker Wei Yanwu quietly clink glasses. "The road we walk—no one's left to carry it on after us anymore." A single offhand remark, left lingering with unusual weight.
Around that time, in an alley elsewhere, a familiar wolf appears before the barely-escaped Capone and the dying Gambino. "Family, huh, that's a nostalgic word. You two happen to run into Texas?"
It was Lappland, an old acquaintance from Siracusa. What happened to the two of them after that, nobody confirms.
The next day, rumors spread all over Lungmen. "They say Emperor got stabbed in the gut and just walked out fine." "Heard he's taken bullets and bombs before too, and walked away just as fine." Nobody quite believes it, but nobody can fully deny it either.
In the end, everyone settles on the same conclusion. "Well, he's Emperor, isn't he? Wouldn't be called an emperor for nothing." And so the night of Sourin fades away, leaving behind one rumor, sweet and absurd as candy.
